Research Interests

Our major goal is to synthesize new magnetic metal complexes with novel physical and chemical properties. The material that we are interested in is “single molecule magnets”. They are mostly poly-nuclear metal clusters and can function as magnets at low temperature. It was proposed in the literature that single-molecule-magnets can be applied to serve as “spintronic devices”. To the complexes which structure are known, we can modify their peripheral ligands to fine tune their redox properties and spin parameters.
