Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships available from both the university and department.

The following are the qualifications needed for scholarship applications in the undergraduate

and graduate (masters and PhD) programs.

Aside from fixed scholarships offered by the department, there are also many scholarships

offered from the university and other sources.

Please regularly check out the department bulletin board or the university Office of

Student Affairs website for up-to-date information on grants and scholarships available.

Dean Kong Xiang-xi Scholarship

Cheng Yu-ming Academic Foundation Scholarship

NT$30,000 to NT$40,000 per person annually distributed in two installments.

Open to students from low-income families who have GPAs of 80 and above, are in good health and have passing moral conduct grades.

Chemistry Department Progress Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to coordinate with the College of Science and Engineering Student Advisor System; aimed elevating the inclination and interest for students to improve their study habits. Student advisors for each class make recommendations for scholarship recipients.

Sister Liu Ying Memorial Scholarship

Determined by amount of interest available from foundation.

Undergraduate upperclassmen whose family or self has undergone unexpected financial difficulties.

Sister Li Wei-ping Memorial Scholarship

Determined by amount of interest available from foundation. Number of scholarships given determined by evaluation committee.

Undergraduate student whose family or self has undergone unexpected financial difficulties.

Graduate School

Professor Li Zong-ji Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship designed to encourage PhD students to stay in Taiwan and study. One to two given out annually; determined by amount of interest from fund.

Professor Jiang Shi-cong Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was set up to remember the late Professor Jiang and to encourage outstanding students to stay at Fu Jen University to study in graduate program. Five available each academic year with amount set from fund interest. (Recipients determined by professor recommendations; check with department for more details.)

Department of Chemistry Alumni Association Scholarship

Scholarship designed to encourage undergraduate students to apply for master’s degree program and for master degree students to pursue doctoral degrees. The scholarship covers tuition and miscellaneous fees. Please check with department for more details.

Zhang Jin-de Alumni Scholarship

The scholarship was set up by alumnus Dr. Zhang Jin-de to encourage outstanding students to apply for the master’s degree program. The scholarship is given to the student who has the highest GPA when applying for graduate school and covers two years of tuition and miscellaneous fees.

Tai Jie Scholarship

The Tai Jie Chemical Company set up this scholarship to encourage and elevate chemical research. One scholarship is available each academic year for a first year master’s program student with an exceptional GPA. Once the recipient has registered in the master’s program, he or she receives a one-year scholarship that covers tuition and miscellaneous fees.
